A Queensland safety certificate inspection checks whether the vehicle meets minimum safety standards in the applicable inspection areas. It is not a full mechanical or pre-purchase inspection.

A roadworthy is not a pre-purchase inspectionA vehicle can meet minimum roadworthy requirements and still have maintenance needs, developing faults, cosmetic defects or mechanical wear that is outside the scope of a safety certificate inspection.
